Remembrance Sunday is 8 November 2026. Ringwood's parade is at 11.30am; Lyndhurst's service is 10.45am with the parade at noon. Lymington times from 2025.

Remembrance Sunday falls on 8 November in 2026, and two New Forest councils have already published their plans. Ringwood Town Council’s parade gathers in the Market Place at 11.30am and the act of remembrance is at noon in the War Memorial Garden. In Lyndhurst the church service is at 10.45am and the parade to Bolton’s Bench at noon. Everywhere else, the towns have not yet said, and the times below for Lymington, New Milton, Totton and the villages are last year’s, from the organisers and the local paper, given because they barely change from year to year.

The quick answer

Remembrance Sunday is Sunday 8 November 2026 and Armistice Day is Wednesday 11 November. Ringwood is confirmed for 2026: services around the town in the morning, parade gathers in the Market Place by the parish church at 11.30am, act of remembrance and wreath-laying in the War Memorial Garden at 12 noon, then back to the Market Place; on Armistice Day a service at the memorial garden at 10.45am with a maroon fired to mark the silence (Ringwood Town Council). Lyndhurst is confirmed too: service at St Michael and All Angels at 10.45am, parade at 12 noon to the war memorial at Bolton’s Bench for the wreath-laying (Lyndhurst Parish Council). Lymington’s parade left the town hall car park at 9am last year for a 10am service at St Thomas’ Church; New Milton’s leaves Crossmead Avenue car park at about 10.45am for the 11am silence at the war memorial.

Updated 3 October: Ringwood’s November commemorations start a day early, with a service at the Commonwealth War Graves in Ringwood Cemetery on Saturday 7 November, gathering at 10.45am.

Updated 29 September: Lyndhurst Parish Council has published its 2026 times, church service 10.45am and parade at noon.

Ringwood: confirmed for 2026

Ringwood’s page is the most detailed first-party confirmation in the district, and it is specific. The commemorations begin on Saturday 7 November 2026 with a service at the Commonwealth War Graves in Ringwood Cemetery, gathering at 10.45am, when poppy crosses are laid on the graves of service personnel buried in the town. On Sunday 8 November 2026 “various services are due to take place around the town”, after which the parade gathers in the Market Place by the parish church at 11.30am and processes to the War Memorial Garden opposite Greyfriars Community Centre. A short service is followed by the formal act of remembrance at 12 noon, including the wreath-laying, and the procession walks back to the Market Place.

On Armistice Day, Wednesday 11 November, there is a service at the War Memorial Garden at 10.45am with the national two-minute silence at 11am. Ringwood keeps a local tradition: the start and end of the silence are marked by a maroon, “a loud bang heard around the town” (Ringwood Town Council).

Lyndhurst: confirmed for 2026

Lyndhurst Parish Council lists the Remembrance Parade for Sunday 8 November 2026: a church service at St Michael and All Angels starting at 10.45am, followed by a parade to the war memorial at Bolton’s Bench for the laying of wreaths, with the parade starting at 12 noon (Lyndhurst Parish Council). That matches last year’s pattern, when the Advertiser and Times gave 10.45am at the church and 11.50am at Bolton’s Bench. The council has not published a road closure for the parade.

New Milton: the town council’s standing arrangement

New Milton Town Council describes its annual act of remembrance without a year. The parade sets off at approximately 10.45am from Crossmead Avenue car park to reach the war memorial for the two-minute silence at 11am, then continues along Station Road to the Memorial Hall for a service starting at about 11.45am. That service features presentations by local schools on New Milton residents linked to key moments in history. At 3pm there is a separate act of remembrance at the Indian Obelisk, in honour of the Indian Army who fought alongside British forces in the world wars (New Milton Town Council). Last year the town council published a poster with the same times in October; expect the 2026 version then.

Lymington and the villages: last year’s times

None of these has been confirmed for 2026. They are the 2025 arrangements reported the day before Remembrance Sunday by the Advertiser and Times, and where we could check them against a first-party source we have said so (Advertiser and Times, 7 November 2025).

Lymington’s town council asks anyone who wants to lay a wreath to tell it in advance so they can be called during the ceremony.

Hythe and Dibden Parish Council’s own page says services are held at All Saints in Dibden, St John’s in Hythe, St Andrew’s in Dibden Purlieu and Hythe Memorial Hospital, on the Sunday nearest 12 November, with times set by each church (Hythe and Dibden Parish Council).

Roads

Where a road is closed for a parade, Hampshire County Council publishes the order as a public notice in the fortnight before. None had appeared for any New Forest town on 24 September or when we checked again on 29 September; we will add them here when they do. Parking in the town centre car parks is normal on the Sunday; see parking in the New Forest and roadworks and travel for anything else affecting the morning.

Still to be confirmed

  • 2026 times for Lymington, New Milton, Totton, Fordingbridge, Brockenhurst, Hythe, Sway, Milford and Keyhaven: expected from the town and parish councils and churches during October.
  • Road closure orders: expected in late October or early November.

This page will be updated as each town publishes. The other November fixtures are on Bonfire Night fireworks and Christmas lights switch-ons.
